Inhibitions of a Wavering Mind

I was never a star performer my entire life. Always lingered between average and above average in almost all parts of life. And many times the law of averages worked in my favour. Its not that I don’t want to, its something else.

Hear this out.

I wanted to learn flute for a very long time. So, when we got pregnant, I used the timing to assure myself that the lullaby for my newborn is going to be through the soothing music of my flute. Super thrilled and motivated, I started learning to play flute online.

My son is 11 years old now and I’m right where I left it 12 years back.

You see where I’m going with this?

I usually start something out of the blue, will follow up rigorously for a few days and then I vanish.

My highest streak on an initiative was 77 days of morning walk. And then a few guilty come backs here and there. But never got back really.

I try to create constraints around my day so that I can focus on things that matter. I share my commitment with people I value the most so that I keep myself accountable.

If you are looking for a turn around story of how I won over this, I’m sorry to disappoint you. Because, I’ve not.

I still struggle sometimes and I’m sure a lot of you do too.

They say that the first thing to do when you want to fix something is to recognise the problem. Find them and construct your day and life in a way that keeps you accountable and in a way it works for you.

I know it’s easier said than done. But nevertheless, I wish you the best.
